Interview!

I'm finally scheduled for an interview for that position as Parent Coordinator for the Family Advisory Council at our local children's hospital. I'll be interviewing Wednesday afternoon. I found out mine is the only application they are considering so far, so it looks pretty sure that I'll get the position. I'll let you know how it goes!

This council promotes family-centered care (FCC) at our hospital and also within our community. You can learn more about this initiative at the Institute for Family-Centered Care. Here's another great description of FCC and why we are pushing for it so strongly.

FCC is really a great thing for both patients and families, and I believe it helps doctors provide better care. It helps everyone approach a medical issue as a team, because family members are experts in their loved one and bring invaluable information to the table.
