Grrrrrr

We got our August mortgage statement 2-3 weeks ago and were overjoyed to read that our next mortgage payment was due in October, not September! Scott and I celebrated, thinking this was perfect timing since we're buying a house in September and that extra money would really come in handy this month.

Today I got an escrow analysis in the mail. They do this every year to make sure we put enough money into the escrow account each month to pay our homeowners insurance and county taxes. Something on that letter made me think they were assuming a September payment after all.

I made what I hope is the last call to that company this afternoon.

"I'm sorry. We mistakenly sent out those statements with the October date on them. You do have a payment due on September 1."

Seems to me that they should have to honor the document I'm holding in my hand that says I'm next due in October. What if we hadn't called? What if we hadn't made that payment? Good grief, people! Call or write another letter when you find errors like that! Is that so hard? You're messing with people's credit-worthiness here!
