Ahhhh....

We had a wonderful weekend. I steadily got better from my cold, though I did drink Robitussin like water. I really enjoyed a break from the daily grind of cooking, cleaning, dressing kids, changing kids, getting up in the middle of the night with kids, and working my entire day's schedule around theirs.

I left the house without a purse, diaper bag, sippee cups, and entertainment-bag-of-tricks.

I ate enormous delectable breakfasts that filled me up so much I didn't need lunch.

I drank coffee that I didn't have to fix myself.

I didn't wash a single dish.

The only thing I cooked was a bag of microwaveable popcorn.

We listened to the music we wanted to. Or we didn't listen to anything at all.

We wandered through stores without constantly keeping children from breaking things, running off, and spilling their drinks on items for sale. We left the stores when we were done, instead of when someone was hungry or tired or dirty or having a meltdown.

I made great progress on the stocking I'm knitting for my niece. When I finish this section, I'll post a photo.

The kids did GREAT with my parents and no-one got sick. They didn't cling to us like barnacles when we returned, either!

My only disappointments were that it didn't start snowing sooner, so as to snow us in another day; that I didn't sleep better (par for the course during pregnancy unfortunately, especially when you're sick); and that I didn't get more time to read.

All in all, it was a fabulous weekend.
