Funnies

Sam

Last night we heard a car door slam. I said I thought that sounded like Heather. Sam jumped up from playing toys and raced to the front door exclaiming, "Heather is here?!?! Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!" He opened the door himself, leaned outside, and yelled, "HI HEATHER!" Then he came in and announced, "HEATHER IS HERE! SHE'S HERE! IT'S COLD OUTSIDE! LOOK! IT'S HEATHER!"

Almost every time we ask him if he needs to go potty, Sam replies, "No. I already just did." This doesn't mean he had an accident (as in, he just went in his pants), it just means he doesn't have to go or doesn't want to take the time to go.

He is still learning prepositions. The only one he really knows is "over." So he says things like, "I put the toy over the couch" and "Put the peanut butter over the bread" and "I put my pullup over the trash."

Anna

Anna weighed in at 22 pounds today! I couldn't believe it. She was wearing all her clothes, and probably a wet diaper, but sheesh! (It's so amazing to see a child gain weight like they are supposed to. I know Sam did, but I'm still not over it. Elli didn't reach 20 pounds until she was 3 years old!)

Last night, Anna sat next to K.C., one of our new friends from church. They became buddies immediately, and at one point, Anna decided that she wasn't getting enough attention from K.C. She turned to her and tugged on her sleeve. As soon as K.C. turned to see what she wanted, Anna gave her this face-splitting grin. Do ya think this 3rd-born wants attention?!

Elli

I put a greeting to Elli's new aide at school into her Dynavox this morning. As soon as she heard it, Elli started smiling and giggling. I think she really liked the chance to say "Hi" to someone.

Elli was introduced to Sponge Bob Saturday night. He's quite a smart-alek so I don't want her to watch much of him, but she didn't really hear much of what he said because of all the commotion going on in the room. She thought his facial expressions (which are extremely exaggerated) and tones of voice were hilarious and she belly-laughed through the whole show. We really got a kick out of that. She told Julie about Sponge Bob today with her Dynavox - she said she thought he was funny. Julie wasn't impressed. I heard her say, "I think he's dumb and obnoxious." I had to laugh to myself - sometimes it is SO odd to have someone else in your home so much - especially if they are opinionated!

Tiny Sweater

A friend emailed this photo of what I think very well may be the world's tiniest real sweater. I can't imagine making something quite that small! It's amazing. I'm wondering how this compares in size with the fairy clothes Brenda has made? Here's what she wrote:
We went to a flea market yesterday and bought this sweater for $1. It's a little big, but too cute to pass up.... (This is an 'only hearts club' doll, she is a little smaller than a Barbie for reference)
