I have always loved old houses. They have such character. People put beautiful detail into them and they are so unique. I love this front porch, the high ceilings, the country garden flowers around...
And look at those stairs! Aren't they amazing? If you look closely you'll see a stained glass window on the landing! It's one of at least 3 like this in the house.
I know you're thinking to yourself, "She's crazy! Stairs? What about Elli and her wheelchair?" And that's exactly why I haven't looked at any before -- I just didn't think it was possible for a house like this to work for us.
But... this house has two bedrooms on the ground floor! And two more upstairs, with two full bathrooms, one on each floor. A four-bedroom house for less money than the three bedroom house that's been at the top of our list for the last month. Perfect.
Now, we haven't actually walked through this house yet. We didn't have time this week. We're going to see it next week. Maybe between now and then we'll get an offer on this house. We had someone come for a second look on Tuesday, and we're on another couple's short list. So I can dream, right?
