I've Been Tagged

Jennine, who writes My Ovaries Made Me Do It, tagged me to write six weird things about me. I'm not sure I can come up with six, but I'll try. (Everybody can stop snorting with laughter now.)

"According to the rules... Each player of this game starts with the "6 Weird Things about You". People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says 'you are tagged' in their comments and tell them to read your blog!"

1. I talk to myself. It helps me organize the jumble of thoughts tumbling round my head to force them to come out one at a time in a way that makes sense.

2. I'm a bit obsessive about waste. No-one had to convince me to recycle -- I naturally incline towards reusing things and throwing things out is very hard for me to do.

3. I'm even more obsessive about germs. Kids sharing toys that they all put in their mouths is my idea of a nightmare. Perhaps I've spend too much time in hospitals, but I wash my hands so often that they often split and crack from dryness.

4. I am believe in the God of the Bible and that the Bible is His Word, but I HATE "Christian" radio. The majority of "popular" Christian music and DJs on the air, in my opinion, have no depth to their faith if they even have genuine faith. You can tell by what they say and write -- it's all about themselves, not about God. I hate "Christian" stores even worse. There's nothing worse than seeing Joel Osteen's books next to John Piper's next to Dr. Phil's wife next to Billy Graham next to the Duct Tape Bible. (This is a real-life example from an errand I ran immediately after Christmas.) It's totally a money-changers-in-the-Temple, making money off of God scene, and it makes me want to vomit and then torch the stuff.

5. I dislike shopping, while my husband likes it. I find that window-shopping fuels my discontent, which is a very unpleasant state of mind. If I don't know it's out there, I don't desire it when I can't get it. Shopping without the ability to get whatever I want is an exercise in frustration.

6. I enjoy doing old-fashioned, uncool things like cooking (but not baking), sewing, knitting, and gardening. I cook hot meals almost every night because I love to cook for my family (but mostly for Scott -- if he isn't home, my motivation is nearly gone).

Brooke, Brenda, Heather W., Megan, Amy W., and Kat -- you're it!
