Olympic Knitting Update

I made good progress on the sweater last night, but I will not complete the sweater by tonight's closing ceremonies. The left front is done and the right front is about half done. I like to think of myself as a Lindsay Kildow-style Olympian. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been unable to compete to the level at which I had expected. But I'm still making an effort in a spirit of sportmanship. :)

I still have to finish the birthday socks for Elli, which has also taken away from a single-minded pursuit of Olympic gold. Ultimately, that's more important anyway.

I did get a chance to get out yesterday. I ran a bunch of errands and spent some of my birthday money. I splurged and got this ball of "Supersock" yarn for myself. I should have enough left over to make some socks for Sam too, since it's blue and green. I'm very excited about my new project. It's nice to vary the knitting a bit -- sometimes I'm just not in the mood for cables or for tiny needles. Variety is nice!
