A Day to Celebrate

I never dreamed that one day I would celebrate tossing a pile of bibs into the trash. But today I realized that Elli's saliva gland surgery had been a success, so therefore I had no more need of the massive pile of bibs I've collected over the past 7 years.

This is only part of the collection -- about 3 years ago I weeded through my collection at that time and destroyed many decrepit or permanently stained bibs. The towering pile you see here is all permanently stained and decrepit. With great relish I tossed the lot into the trash tonight.

The two smaller stacks are memento bibs or ones that I think I can use with Little Boy (one has bibs that need some bleach work and one are bibs in good conditions -- must have hidden in the bottom of the drawer!).

It was a real treat to celebrate such a positive milestone for Elli. She barely dampens the collar of her shirts these days! Before the surgery, she would soak a shirt to her waist in an hour -- two if we were lucky. Not only is her skin healthier, but her lungs sound better, she coughs less, and she doesn't stain up her shirts like she used to. Little Girl will actually get hand-me-downs now!
